Words and edit by Troy DeZeeuw

So, this is my second attempt at a video blog, and I believe this one easily tops the last edition.

I want to capture the true reality and great atmosphere of the sessions we rollerbladers partake in. This Halloween session was no different and the mood of the entire day was positive and as great as the weather we were blessed with. The trip for me started out driving alone 2 hours to Cedar Rapids, where the session was taking place. After purchasing the perfect wig at the local K-Mart my costume was complete and I made my way to the skatepark to meet up with everyone else. The day unfolded from there as we skated and traveled from spot to spot and most of the day went off with out a hitch. There was even the great group trip to the Hy-Vee, where employees wondered where all these kids came from and why they had to choose their food court. By the end of the trip the police had caught a whiff of our trail and followed us from spot to spot giving us the boot, so everyone had to regroup at the skatepark to say our goodbyes and plan for the night.

This is a collective of that day’s events captured through the lens of my Sony pd100a for you, the viewer. Please, sit back, enjoy, and don’t forget to stop and enjoy the small things in life.
